Our Story
Going North Tours was founded by Klippies Kritzinger and Johann Swart, both of whom are deeply passionate about adventure travel and responsible tourism. While Johann stepped back from daily operations in 2021 due to changing work commitments, he continues to play a valued support role within the business. Built on years of practical guiding experience, Going North Tours has grown into a trusted name for travellers seeking safe, well-planned and authentic adventures beyond the beaten path.

We offer a wide range of tour options designed to suit both local and international travellers, including: Guided self-drive 4x2 & 4x4 tours for South African guests 4x4 vehicle rental guidance and bookings for international travellers “Rent a Seat” tours, where guests travel in our guide-driven vehicle Adventure activities, including abseiling, scuba diving, shark cage diving and extreme hiking Cultural and historical tours, including Anglo-Boer War history Kasi (Township) Tours, offering an authentic look into local township life Each tour is carefully planned with safety, comfort and enjoyment in mind, while still allowing for flexibility and adventure.
